Colton's First Haircut

Well - we did it! Colton had his very first haircut today. It was a little sad to see his long flowing hair fall to the ground, but I think the time had come. Here are the before pictures:

Regular Moments...

My father-in-law gave me some good advice over Christmas. He said while its nice to have pictures or videos of Christmas, birthdays and special moments, what we really want to remember are the "regular", every-day moments - the minutiae of life if you will. I hope Colton grows up knowing the beauty of an ordinary day and takes joy in the simple pleasures of life. While there is nothing ordinary about our precious son, here are a few pictures of everyday life around the house. There's not a day that goes by that I don't utter the words, "Thank you, God" for my little boy, Colton. He makes every day special!

Shopping at Mom's favorite store, Target! I can't believe he's big enough to sit in the cart all by himself. Did you notice the shirt, "I love football!"
So big. He's started smiling when we aim the camera at him, now.
Having fun in my "Johnny Jumper." He finally figured out how to jump in it this past week! It cracks him up and he can really get to going fast!

I can't wait to go for a walk in my wagon when I get a little bigger.

Gives new meaning to the phrase, "He devoured the newspaper."
Bedhead! Seriously, my boy needs a haircut. It's past his shoulders in the back and way over his ears! But it's sooooooo precious. I think he could be the poster child for baby hair products - which they don't make by the way. We've looked everywhere for baby "safe" hair gel.

Don't you just want to pinch 'em!

Final Christmas Recap - Installment 5!

We couldn't forget Santa! Colton did very well with his first Santa experience. He didn't exactly smile, but he didn't cry either. He kept a good grip on Santa's fur cuff the whole time!

Christmas in Abilene - Installment 4!

Whew! December was busy, but fun! Every year (usually the weekend after Christmas) our family holds a "Cousins Reunion" and rents a church gym for they day. We have a great time playing basketball, playing with all the new babies, catching up, eating and playing in a Wahoo (marble game) tournament! Unfortunately I didn't get any pics of Meme (Colton's great-grandmother and leader of the gang) or most of the cousin crew. I have 10 cousins and I think we are up to 13 2nd cousins. But, here are a few pics of the "babies of 2007". Sadie and Jack were very laid back during the photo shoot, but Colton was in constant motion! We could be in for some busy toddler years...

Unfortunately, my camera battery ran out so I didn't get any pictures of Colton opening Papaw's cool gifts! I also included pics from our b-day dinner (yes I'm now in the 30's club)...
