Week 43: October 31 - November 7

Monday, October 31
Today we went over to our friends house to eat dinner and trick or treat in their neighborhood. Ms. Dana ordered a pumpkin pizza. Colton thought that was so cool!

They really got into the trick or treating this year.  They all had to knock on the door.

Caden was not sure about this house. He took the candy and ran :)

Daddy took Caden on home to go to bed and Colton and I went out trick or treating  a little longer in our neighborhood. He was having a blast. It was such a fun experience/memory. One of our neighbors had a haunted maze that led to their backyard. I asked if it was too scary for little kids and they yelled out Code 1 (which meant not to make it scary at all). He thought that was so cool. He also couldn't believe that we were walking around at dark and was very impressed that we let him stay up so late! 


Friday, November 4


Today was our day to plan our playgroup outing. We chose to meet at a park for a scavenger hunt and picnic. The weather turned out great and we had so much fun!

Week 42: October 23-29

Monday October 24, 2011


Today we headed to the Arboretum with Bunny. It was beautiful and hot. We had a great time and loved getting to spend the day with Bunny!

Before we could blink, Caden had torn off two blooms from the mums. He was pretty proud and we were  waiting for security to ask us to leave :)

This picture captures a memory of Caden at 2 that I'll treasure forever.  Ever since this summer he has run to me with open arms when he's far away. I'll open my arms and run towards him at the same time and he thinks it's so funny :)

Tonight Grandma and Grandad came over and brought pizza for dinner. Here is Grandma reading one of the  Halloween books she brought for the boys!

Papaw and Karen came over to help us with some house to-do's and then we went to the square for a little trick or treating at the Halloween carnival.

Batman and Robin have a soft spot for furry animals :)

This is a shot of our church small group kiddos plus one Daddy. We were even missing a few. We normally have 14 kiddos ranging from 0-6.

Monday, October 17


I guess 'messy' is a theme around our house. This was another idea I got off of Pinterest. The boys enjoyed it but it was definitely messier than I envisioned. This project was followed by a bubble bath :) 

 Tuesday, October 18

Just a quick shot of Caden at school. So thankful I get to see him each day at recess and hear him all day long at school :) His class is right next to mine.

 After school, we got out the ball pit balls and the boys had so much fun sliding into them! They even invented their own game. I love it when they play together {nicely}!

 Friday, October 21


Today we went on a field trip with our preschool to the Great Orange Pumpkin Farm in Celina. Colton did not want me to call it a Pumpkin Farm :)

 Colton thought it was HILARIOUS that the goat grabbed the cup right out of his hands. He repeated the story many times that day and laughed hysterically each time! I love this age.

 Caden was very proud of his pumpkin and carried it everywhere. He calls them "punkins". Colton could not find a suitable pumpkin until the very last minute. He can sometimes be a little choosy :)

 One of Colton's classmates. When I asked him why he didn't tell me more about this particular friend, he said, "Because she's a grill (girl), Mom!" Haley on the other hand has told her mom all about Colton :)

Sorry for the terrible quality, but I had to document this phase in Caden's life. Man, have we entered the terrible two's. He has started climbing out of his crib, can open his child proof doors and on this day (naptime) I found him asleep in his recliner with his socks on his hands. One night, he was 'refusing' to sleep in his cib (crib) so Jack gave him 3 options: chair, big boy bed or crib. He stuck his stubborn chin out and announced he would be sleeping on the floor. Sure enough, he slept there the whole night. Our next step is to turn the doorknobs around and take away the crib...Pray for us :) A padded room for either him or Mommy may be in our future!
