Project Life: Week 38 September 24-30

Saturday, September 24 - No pictures today because it was basically a day to myself :) I was planning a surprise for Jack - to give him a free afternoon to watch college football and then a date night, so I farmed out the kids to my mom and Jack's parents. I was going to tell him Saturday morning, but on Friday night his friend, Don, invited him to the A&M game. He was so excited to go, that I happily volunteered that I would be just fine by myself and enjoyed a day of running errands, watching tv and an In and Out Burger! I really enjoyed his birthday :) Thanks Bunny for giving Colton a day of fun! Thanks to Grandma and Grandma for keeping & entertaining Caden! They loved their time with you!

Sunday, September 25

 On Sunday, we all met back up at church and then came home for a birthday lunch for Daddy and more cake! The boys are pros at birthdays now!

Monday, September 26

 Sweet brothers walking to the park. I think our stroller days are numbered. They both want to walk! I'm not sure how I feel about this because it could mean 2 different directions! And Caden has one speed if he's walking! Slow and ambling :) Running is a different story -he is FAST!

 One of my favorite pictures! I never knew dirt could be so fascinating until I had boys :) I think they spotted an ant pile.

 Remember the muddy handprints covering the garage? Well, they had almost as much fun cleaning them up. While they were at it they washed my trashcans and the wagon!

 Friday, September 30

 I've been seeing lots of ideas for sensory boxes, so we made our first one this week. It's all fallish materials (leaves, harvest gems, pumpkins/goards and a few other random goodies (mostly from Dollar Tree/Michaels). They had a good time exploring and sorting. The idea was to keep all the contents on the circle rug - they mostly succeeded :)

Saturday, September 17

Today we took Jack to our favorite trail and park. Colton showed off his hot wheel riding skills and rode almost all of the 2 mile trail with a few boosts from Mom and Dad :)

Later that afternoon we headed to Cowboys Stadium to see ACU play football! Thanks Pawpaw and Karen  for such  a fun outing!

We got this idea off of Pinterest and the boys loved it. We just froze some of their sea animals in blue water and then "rescued" them while we pretended to be Diego :) After, this we decided to make a swamp for some more of our animals. It was such a fun time and even Mommy got muddy :)

 Friday, September 23 - Happy Birthday to Daddy!

Today we headed out with our friends, the Nelsons, for a fun playdate at an indoor safari park in Plano. We both  had a groupon to redeem and it turned out to be a great buy! They had putt-putt, a train, animal rides and a huge indoor playground with several different areas. It was really clean and not very crowded!

Later that night we had a few friends over for dinner to celebrate Tianay's birthday and Jack's birthday. 

Caden loved playing with Baby Brooklyn.

Remember the swamp we made on Tuesday? Well, I thought I hid it well, but in the time it took me to  load the car before we left for our playdate Friday morning, both boys had "decorated" our garage with the mud from the swamp. Nice!

We told Daddy it was his birthday card when he got home from work! He never knows what he'll find when he gets home from work!

Thursday September 8

The boys playing Elefun. On the box, there's a picture of a daddy holding up the child to see inside the trunk, so Colton insists on being lifted up each time we play this game :)

Colton can play for hours with Play-doh. Here he is with his Play-doh man!

This photo was sent from Colton's teacher. She said that she had instructed the kids to paint their face with chalk (meaning their faces they had drawn on construction paper) My sweet boy took it literally!

Daddy had the great idea to bring the slide indoors and it provided hours of entertainment on a HOT day in September! This time it was a Caden-led "Monkey-see, Monkey-do"!

I made a felt board for my preschool class and Colton tested it out for me! He  created this scene all by himself!

Wednesday, September 13

The first few weeks of school  we celebrated Colton's success at staying clean and dry at school so we went for "squishies" at Sonic (slushes).

Colton tasting squid at our playgroup's field trip to Market Street grocery store. It was a great tour!

Checking out the grocery store freezers. They let them walk inside the freezers, but they didn't stay long :) We ended our playgroup with a lunch at Chic-fil-a! It was a fun outing.
