Red River Vacation Part 1

Project Life: Week 31 - August 3 to August 10, 2011


Thursday, August 3


We began our journey to Red River, NM around 9 in the morning. Our car (Paige, Henry, Caden and me) swung by Abilene to pick up Jarett (our niece's fiance') and then met up Grandma, Grandad, Colton, Wilkin and the travel trailer in Lubbock at a KOA.

We stayed at the nicest KOA. We had a great little cabin and the boys enjoyed the park, pool and lots of area to run around in after a long day in the car. They were all great travelers!

Thursday, August 4


2nd leg of the journey and we all stayed together. We stopped in a little town in NM for a great picnic lunch and already could feel the drop in temperature!

 We're here in Red River. This is the view from our house. We arrived around 5:30 Mountain time.

 Henry is glad to be out of the car.

 They ran up and down the road waiting for Uncle Doug, Daddy and Brittany to arrive. They flew in to Albuquerque and made it to our cabin around 8 that evening. Grandma fixed her famous spaghetti and we enjoyed settling in!

 Henry is so sweet to Caden and is always watching out for him!

 The boys had a great time on the stairs!

 Daddy finally made it! We were so glad to see him!

 Friday morning we just hung out at the house and enjoyed the beautiful weather and scenery!

 Colton loves to play basketball, but Daddy's arms were very tired after this game!

Brittany & Jarett: Our resident chefs and cutest engaged couple ever. These two volunteered to cook our evening meals. We thoroughly enjoyed their culinary talents. Tonight's meal was Beef Fajitas!
